Snowshoe

5 couples got to go to Snowshoe, West Virginia last weekend--without our kiddos! Thanks for planning the trip, Lon!

Honday Odyssey + snow + steep hill=stuck in the snow bank
We had to get towed and have Matt pick us up in his 4 Runner. The van stayed parked at the bottom of the hill the rest of the weekend!

Skiing was fantastic and soooo cold. We were covered from head to toe.

We got to ski in snow almost every day! Fresh powder is perfect for skiing!
(this is Claire on the left and me on the right)

Waiting in the long lines at the lift

Sharon, Claire, and me
Can you tell we're a little cold?

Matt and Shannon

This is the tip top of Silvercreek and they just closed the lift for night skiing. We waited for everybody to go down so we would have that slope to ourselves!
Here's the crew:
Kyle (Lon's brother) and his wife Brooke, Sharon & Lon, me & Ryan, and Shannon
Matt, Mike & Claire were sitting this run out.

What a fun way to spend Valentine's Day!

For our Valentine's Day dinner, Shannon thought of everything! She brought chargers, tablecloths, and candlesticks! Here's Ryan the waiter:
The girls playing Speed Scrabble

As we were leaving Sunday, Kyle found the biggest icicle I've ever seen!

And remember how the van was parked at the bottom of the hill because it couldn't make it up? We had to cram 10 people in 2 cars with luggage to leave:

This is the blizzard that we drove home in:
It was a little frightening to say the least! Here's a video to show the snow we drove through:

First Haircut

Gavin got his first haircut last week! He wasn't in dire need of it being cut, but it was getting a bit shaggy and I needed a cut, so we both got it cut together! Here's a before picture:

He was such a good boy while Margie cut his hair! He had graham crackers in each hand to keep him occupied.

And when that stopped working, I gave him my water bottle--that did the trick!

Blizzard

Haha, not quite! We were supposed to get a lot more snow--they were calling for 4-8 inches for us! We got about 3 here.
Gavin doesn't really enjoy the snow because we bundle him up so much he's just like a big marshmallow.

Sledding in our neighbor's yard:
Hmmm...a little top heavy?
"I can't put my arms down!"

He liked it better when it started snowing big flakes.

I know you can see the excitement on his face!
Can't wait 'til he's older and we can play in it together!

11 Months

Our little boy is growing up so much!

Already learning to be a man (reading in the bathroom)...

He isn't really a fan of toys anymore. He prefers to empty everything out of our kitchen cabinets.
And he's getting a sense of humor!

He loves our laptop so much I think we should get him his own!

Learning to share with his best buddy Braden.
These boys are two smart cookies!

Dakota and Gavin like to play Tug-of-War together.
This is one toy he does still love--because it's musical, of course! Thanks for the hand-me-down, Jessica!

Gavin got in his first fight a couple of weeks ago...and lost! It's good for him to make him a tough boy! (Notice the bite mark looks like a smiley face--so funny.)

Still a little music maestro.

Out in the snow in his new wagon. I love that Dakota and Gavin both have the same look:
"Umm, guys, are you sure about this?"

And no post would be complete without messy food pictures. Enjoy!

Spaghetti:

El Charro cheese dip (boy after my own heart!)

Mashed Potatoes:

Yes, it would be less messy to feed him ourselves, but where's the fun in that??

Guessing Game

Ryan taught Gavin how to play this game last week. I think our son is incredibly advanced for not even 11 months old! :)

Tummy Time

Tummy Time for Gavin used to mean this:

Now it means this:

I guess if my stomach stuck out that far, I'd want to drum on it too!
