Family Pictures

Thanks to Lillian Prince, we got some awesome family pictures a few weeks ago! I couldn't pick my favorites, so I made a book on Shutterfly as an early Christmas present to me and the grandmothers. I just realized I could share it on here! So here it is...

I had a code for 5 free cards on shutterfly.com and made these Christmas cards using Lillian's awesome pictures. This is not what most of you will be getting (only 5 lucky ones!) but I love them so much and want to share! I actually made 4 different cards this year! Now off to address envelopes and decide who gets which one!

Pumpkin Patch

We finally made it out to Oakes Farm Saturday for Gavin to experience his first Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze!

We of course had some bad attitude when he spotted the tractor and I made him pose for a picture. Goodness gracious.

He loved these kid-size tractors:

And of course LOVED the hayride behind a real tractor!! He couldn't take his eyes off of it!

Off to "pick" our pumpkins
Gavin had to examine them very closely before picking the perfect one:

Notice how Henley enjoyed picking the pumpkins (in the carrier fast asleep)

There were lots of fun tractors for Gavin to admire...
...and sit on!
This is pure joy on this boy's face!

There was a fun kids' play area with a lot of things to do, like...
Pedal Cars:

a huge slide,
a bouncy thing,
(which I had to try too!)
a kid's Corn Maze,

and a huge sand pit with Gavin's favorite thing in the world: DUMP TRUCKS!!

All Gavin wanted to do once he saw the dump trucks was play in the sand!

And when we forced him to do other things besides play with the trucks, he was not a happy boy:

Henley slept the whole time we were there!
I guess I would too if I were all snuggled up next to my Mom!

And I got to enjoy some FRIED OREOS while watching the boys play. If you ever see these on any menu, I highly recommend them!! It's like funnel cake on the outside and melted oreo on the inside. Wow. I may need to learn how to make these.

It was such a fun family day!

October Recap

So instead of doing separate "20 Month" and "1 Month" posts, I think I'll just do a month recap post from now on. Too bad it's a week late!

I got an early Christmas present this month! A new camera!! So I've been playing photographer this month and LOVING it.

Here are my 2 sleeping girls:

Dakota prefers Gavin to Henley for sure. She doesn't really know what to think of this little thing that just sleeps all the time.

My sweet baby girl.
I'm having so much fun accessorizing with a girl!! :)

First bath!

Henley loves to be held all the time, especially by her Daddy:

She smiles all the time in her sleep. I can't wait for her to do it for real!

Henley had her first date this month with Rev Alexander.
"Look Rev, I got my hair done for you."
"And my nails, too!"

They pretty much slept the whole time!

Ryan's Mom had Fall Break a couple of weeks ago and took Gavin for the week so I could just enjoy my little girl. I am spoiled rotten!! Gavin had a ton of fun with Gram and Papaw. Here are a few pictures:

Can't imagine how much he loved seeing the trains!!
Love this kid.

Gavin genuinely loves his little sister.

He asks to hold her and is so gentle with her.

And loves to kiss her!!

We are loving Gavin at this age and teaching him new things.
Here he is helping us cook!

Learning to ride a Power Wheels:

Cheesing for the camera:

New favorite food: Candy Corn!
So glad Halloween is over and there's only a couple pieces left for him to beg for! :)

Hangin' out with Aunt Amanda

We followed a fire truck into a parking lot one day and just got out to look at it and the fireman let Gavin sit in the driver's seat!! He was so stunned.

My big baby:

I haven't been able to get ready before the kids wake up very much since I try to sleep until they wake me up so I can get MAYBE 6 1/2 or 7 hours a night. So Gavin has been getting ready with me. Notice the clip in the hair and the chapstick on the floor. Very masculine, buddy.

Gavin loves bugs--which means he is definitely my son!
We found this spider in the hallway (bottom left corner) and he was so interested in it:

"Dad, do you think he would like a Cheerio to eat?"
(He really did put the Cheerio under the spider--so cute.)

One of my favorite things we've done this month is have a family movie night. We watched How to Train Your Dragon which was AWESOME and Gavin sat and watched almost the whole thing like this! Can't wait to do this again! I guess it helps when you have your favorite blanket, a comfy seat next to Dad, and homemade Kettle Corn to eat during the movie!

Henley's 1 Month Stats:
Head: 38 cm (moved from 25% to 75%!!)
Weight: 10 lb 4 oz (85% WOA!! Gavin was 10 lb 2 oz at his 1 month checkup! This could mean a very chunky girl!)
Height: 21 1/4 in (80%!)
Maybe she won't be a little petite thing like we thought she was going to be!

I feel so blessed with our little family. It has been such an easy transition from just Gavin to 2 kids that I know it is the Lord's kindness! We are so thankful every day!!
