Gavin is such an outdoorsy boy already! His favorite thing to do during the day? Sit and look out the front door or lay in the yard on a blanket.
Gavin is quite the popular one in our neighborhood. The kids LOVE him! Oh, he's going to be so spoiled. :) Look at all this attention!

This week, Elizabeth and I traded boys for the first time and it was GLORIOUS!!
She keeps the boys for 2 hours while I run errands, and then I keep the boys for 2 hours while she runs errands. It's wonderful! Hopefully they'll be great friends one day like their Moms!

This video makes me smile every time. Gavin just learned how to scream this weekend.

Whew, life as a 3-month-old is hard!

The Biltmore

On Saturday, our good friends Peter and Bethany invited us to go the Biltmore in Ashville, NC. I had been when I was a little girl, but I couldn't truly appreciate how gorgeous it is until now!

Ryan and Peter took turns carrying Gavin in the Bjorn. Can I just brag on my son--he did AWESOME!!! He maybe cried 5 minutes the entire time, and we were there for about 6 hours! Here's our manly men carrying the baby and diaper bag. Ha!

Can you imagine living with this view?? Fun fact--the trees and other landscaping were brought in by the landscaper, not naturally grown there.

We walked FOREVER! We saw a sign for a Bass Pond and thought it would be close. We estimated it was 8.5 miles (exaggeration, of course).
But we got to see some beautiful scenery the whole time.
And even walked through the woods.

My 1st Mother's Day!

I have never had such an exciting and event-filled Mother's Day before! First, I woke up to this from my wonderful husband...

(yes, those are pearl earrings!)
Thank you, Ryan, for making my first Mother's Day so special!

Then we went to church where Gavin (along with 7 other babies born around the same time) were dedicated to the church.

Instead of infant baptisms, the pastors pray over the families to raise our babies in a Christian home.
"Train up a child in the way he should go. Even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

Afterwards, we had a joined picnic with our friends the Carrs and the Andrews and our families to celebrate.
There was SO MUCH delicious food!

Mom had this pillow made for me (thanks for sewing it, Christie!). It is my old blanket when I was a baby. And now it is in the chair I rock my baby in. How special!! I will always treasure this, Mom!
