Holy Cow

We went down to Chattanooga a couple of weeks ago for a quick visit with my family. While we were there, check out what Mom, Gavin, and I did.
July 10 was the 5th Annual Cow Appreciation Day at Chik-fil-A. The 3 of us (including the Gavster!) got a free combo meal of our choice! Mom was mortified, but it was quite worth it for free food. :)
Ryan's Mom gave Gavin this outfit a few months ago, and that's what inspired me.
Isn't he precious??
They even have a picture of us on their website that a friend of mine told me is showing at the Chattanooga Chik-fil-A in a slideshow (thanks, Duane!)! Gavin's already famous at 4 months old!

Rice Cereal

Gavin had his first Rice Cereal last week!

Ryan was so excited to be able to feed him since I always get to.

"Dad, what the heck are you doing?"
"I'm not so sure about this."
"Does this look good to you?"
"Seriously, guys, don't make me eat this stuff again."
"Mom is so much better."

Blackberry Pickin'

We went to pick blackberries this week to make a Blackberry Cobbler. Ryan has a patch for free right across from his work!

Gavin and I got a little too adventurous.
I leaned in too close and he got stuck in the thorns.
I had to pull out 7 thorns and he started bleeding. Poor thing!!
He's a tough guy!

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall

Gavin loves looking at himself in the mirror that hangs on top of his play mat. He cracks me up!

4th of July

Gavin had a great first 4th of July!
(His shirt says "All American Cutie." It's true!)

We had quite the shindig at our house with our friends and neighbors. We grilled out at our house, then hopped on over to our neighbor's to enjoy their 100 foot Slip & Slide! It was dark, so my camera wasn't cooperating, but hopefully you can see how awesome this thing is.

Then it was back to our house to enjoy the firework show. I can't believe how many people fit in our yard!

Our neighbors got soooo many fireworks. It was their attempt to compete with the neighborhood next to ours that always has awesome fireworks every year. I think we definitely gave them a run for their money this year!

I had to cover Gavin's new little ears while he watched!

Joslynn, I sure do miss you friend!
These guys were super patriotic after the firework show.

RJ & Joz, I think you guys should bring this picture down with you to Nicaragua! Ha!

We always love spending the 4th at home!!

An Ode to Gavin

Here are a few things that remind us of our chunky little man...

The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.

The Michelin Tire Man
(I was called this when I was a baby, too!)

And we've had quite a few friends quote this for us!

We sure do love our chunky boy!
